Tia Mowry Sets The Record Straight On Her Recent Comments About Her Relationship With Tamera Mowry-Housley
As The Shade Room previously reported, last week, Entertainment Tonight published an exclusive clip from Mowry’s upcoming reality show, ‘Tia Mowry: My Next Act.’ In the clip, Mowry spoke about adjusting to the new family dynamic between her and her ex-husband, Cory Hardrict. Specifically, the actor spoke about her and her husband no longer being in the same household.
“And when you’re dropping your kids off, you actually visually see how that is no longer,” Mowry explained.
Additionally, in the clip, Mowry said that “being alone has been the most challenging” party of her split from Hardrict.
“It’s time like this when I feel and wish that my sister and I were still close, and I could pick up the phone and call her,” she added.
Furthermore, when Entertainment Tonight published the clip, the outlet’s caption stated: “Tia Mowry reveals she’s slightly estranged from twin Tamera in the series premiere… Tia lets cameras into her life as she navigates her new normal after divorcing Cory Hardrict.”
In reaction, social media users largely appeared surprised by Mowry’s apparent revelation about the current state of her and Tamera’s relationship and the clip went viral.
Then, on Tuesday, September 24, US Weekly published an exclusive interview with Mowry. Additionally, the mother of two explained that her statements referred to the physical distance between her and her sister.
“In these transitions in life, sometimes you just want a hug, and you just want someone to be as accessible as they used to be, and that is not the case. It’s called life,” she explained. “I love my sister very much. She loves me very much. We have a closeness and a beautiful connection. But that’s what that was all about. It’s just how life unfolds, and it happens with many families.”
Social Media Reacts
Nonetheless, social media users continued to react to Mowry’s statements in The Shade Room’s comment section.
Instagram user @forevermamou wrote, “I love running to the comments and seeing everyone write exactly what I was thinking lol”
While Instagram user @offthegrid_boo added, “Sister, Sister please.”
Instagram user @imrsimonsays wrote, “Gurllll… okay sis.. we HEARD what you said.”
While Instagram user @island_margarita added, “Okay if you’re going to play in our face like that then I’m just not going to not care period.”
Instagram user @__jessejessie wrote, “Girl bye. You said what you said and thats ok. Fix things with your twin…”
While Instagram user @angelica_thecoolblerd added, “I get they’re trying to save face but she was specifically referring to not being able to call her sister because they weren’t as close.”
Instagram user @drtamierasharris wrote, “Prayers ?? Tia go to NAPA. It’s a 1.5 hour flight. Have some wine and girl time with your sister. You have the means to do this. Maybe a once a year weekend getaway for you two would be great or even a 1 day meet up that’s not about work. Yall still need each other ❤️”
While Instagram user @__morganmaleisa added, “But didn’t she say she wishes she could pick up the phone and call? Or I’m tripping?”
Tia Mowry’s Ex-Husband Recently Opened Up About Their Co-Parenting Relationship
As social media continues to question the twins’ current relationship, Mowry’s ex-husband has provided insight into where they currently stand. As The Shade Room previously reported, Hardrict appeared on a recent episode of ‘The Pivot Podcast.’
During his appearance, the actor explained that he’s had to “adapt” to his family’s new normal. However, he believes “everything” is about the kids and he and Mowry are co-parenting “with love.”
“You can’t get caught up in what’s going on out there [and] what people are saying,” he said. “I just know where my heart is at, and I have to continue to move that way because I want all my blessings and… if I succeed, she succeeds, our kids succeed.”
