England’s national rugby teams are ready to move forward together with their new home and away kits for 2024-25, which were unveiled this week.
The kits, made by Umbro, were launched on England Rugby’s website and social media channels on Thursday, September 5. The set is “a celebration of moving forward together, creating a vibrant and powerful on-pitch visual,” according to England Rugby.
The white home kit hews to English tradition, but the side panels and sleeve cuffs bring a fresh design element. The white, red and light blue stripes on a navy blue background “symbolises England Rugby teams playing and progressing across the pitch, emphasises England Rugby’s DNA and strong team ethic that is central to the game.”
The collar is white, and the traditional red English rose appears on the left chest.
The away kit, meanwhile, is a deep red color with a pattern of diamonds across the front. Inside the diamonds are images depicting “the rich history and tradition of England Rugby whilst highlighting the rose as a symbol of unity, inspiration and excellence.” The collar and sleeve cuffs are navy blue.
The diamond pattern is a motif seen in several Umbro-manufactured soccer kits unveiled this year, including those unveiled by Premier League clubs AFC Bournemouth and Ipswich Town. The company, recognizable by its iconic double-diamond logo, celebrates its 100th birthday this year.
The campaign celebrates the values of rugby such as teamwork, resilience and sportsmanship, inspiring both players and fans alike to become part of the ongoing narrative of England Rugby.
