Capcom has released a new video that shows off the upcoming Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, which is due to launch on PS5, Xbox Series S/X and PC digitally on September 19.

The video is hosted by producer Kei Morimoto and director Ryosuke Murai and features around ten minutes of gameplay. As they go through the zombie-infested mall, the duo discuss numerous details about the remaster. If you don’t fee like watching it, check below for a breakdown of everything they said.

  • Facial animations have been completely redone to “create richer expressions and more believable performances.”
  • The game now features 9 different languages, instead of just being in English like it was originally. 14 text languages will be supported.
  • All lines of dialogue are now fully voiced, which Ryosuke hopes will “add new new flavour for people already familiar with the game.” Rysouke jokes that, “we even voiced Otis this time around.”
  • Paradise Plaza has been given a beachfront vibe, complete with some jellyfish decorations floating near the ceiling.
  • For extra immersion, the UI can be turned off.
  • A weapon durability meter has been added, making it much easier to know when an item will break.
  • A setting for turning off background music for streaming can be seen in the options menu. Producer Kei Morimoto recommends using this if you intend on creating Let’s Plays or streaming the game. He also confirms that the game’s original licensed music is still present.
  • A new special closet has been added which lets players instantly dress Frank in any clothes they have found.
  • A special outfit that makes Frank look like his original design has been added. ” We figured there would be people who prefer the old look as well, so you’ll be happy to know that you’ll be able to play with his look too,” said Murai.
  • A Dead Rising 2 Chuck outfit can is seen in the closet.
  • The mall’s bee mascot has been added as a special outfit as well. It’s a rather large outfit, so during the gameplay pieces of it were clipping through the scenery, which Morimoto and Murai had a good laugh at.
