Cincinnati Reds to Wear #14 Patch in Memory of Pete Rose in 2025 – SportsLogos.Net News

The Cincinnati Reds will remember Major League Baseball’s all-time hit king, Pete Rose, with a special memorial patch on their jerseys throughout the 2025 season.

The patch features Rose’s number 14 in white within a black circle, trimmed in white.

The photo shared by the Reds shows the patch on the sleeve of the club’s red scripted “Reds” alternate jersey, which typically features a patch of the club’s mascot. Based on this photo, the team will not wear this logo in 2025 to make room for the tribute to Rose.

Not only is Pete Rose the all-time Major League Baseball leader in hits (4256), he’s also baseball’s all-time leader in games played (3562), plate appearances (15890), and at bats (14053). Of his 24-season career, he spent 19 years with the Reds as a player (three as both player and manager). After retiring from the playing field, he managed the team for another three seasons. Rose’s legacy was tarnished when he received a lifetime ban in 1989 for gambling offences, rendering him ineligible for induction into Baseball’s Hall of Fame. However, he was inducted into the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame and had his number 14 retired by the team in 2016.

Rose died in September, the day after the Reds played their final game of the 2024 season. He was 83.
