Tournament Director Mihir Khandelwal said, “We’re truly thrilled to witness pickleball’s popularity grow. Indian athletes are ruling the game and serving as true inspiration for budding players – Armaan’s three wins is a case in point!”
In the Pro division on Day 3, fans witnessed India’s Armaan Bhatia and the Netherlands’ Roos Van Reek play their best games of pickleball ever, as they defeated the Indian-Australian duo Vishal Masand and Sarah Burr in an impressive 11-5 in the first game and an 11-1 in the second. Also qualifying for the finals were the Australian pair of George Wall and Danni E. Townsend, who won their matches fair and square against Australian-American pair of Emilia Schmidt and Casey Diamond, who put up a tough fight. Wall and Townsend scored 11-8 and 11-9 in the nail-biting semifinal as they finally secured the win.
