Following the slight potential for a Bully remaster, more news is emerging from Rockstar, but this time it’s for the long-awaited PS5 and Xbox Series S/X of Red Dead Redemption 2.
An alleged leaked trailer has surfaced for a current-gen port of Red Redemption 2 which would bring the game natively to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X. The trailer claims it’s launching in March of 2025.
The trailer comes from a Reddit post where a user claims to have worked at Rockstar for a short time and was shown a trailer for a “new” gen version of the game. Said user also claimed to have the entire trailer on their hard-drive and posted for everyone to see. According to the user, “…I think it has been abandoned as to not interfere with GTA 6’s marketing, unless they delay that and give fans more RDR content as a holdover.”
Is Rockstar Games up to something? Taken from a now deleted Reddit post about a PS5 and Xbox Series X version of Red Dead Redemption 2. Bully just got rated for the same consoles so who knows. pic.twitter.com/TQWWpGK4bv

The user goes on to say the trailer “focuses more on Arthur and the story instead of any new graphical features. Pretty much to get old fans all nostalgic and double dip. So don’t get too excited. It’s pretty much the PC version on console.”
The post was very quickly deleted, but not before @CoffeeSneeze on X managed to snag the trailer.
Said trailer is interesting because it uses a remixed orchestral version of That’s The Way It Is from the game’s original soundtrack, lending some creditability to the trailer.
Of course, it’s also possible someone used some handy AI tools to remix the music as well, or did it themselves. The music doesn’t sound quite right, featuring a generic type of orchestral style, the kind you might of when you imagine a typical Hollywood trailer. In other words, it doesn’t quite some like the kind of thing Rockstar would do. But then, we also have to consider this might not be a trailer intended to be shown to public, rather a rough draft.
It wouldn’t be the first time people have cobbled together an elaborate fake trailer for a Rockstar game, either.
The trailer also doesn’t mention anything about improved framerates, better graphics or anything else, which is a bit odd if the trailer is meant to be for a current-gen update.
Of course, an updated version of Red Dead Redemption 2 would seem like an obvious move given how absurdly successful the game has been for Rockstar. But then, it did take Rockstar well over a decade to bring Red Dead Redemption to PlayStation 4.
What do you guys think? As much as I’d love it to be true, I’m leaning more toward this being a fake.
