As The Shade Room previously reported, Fatman Scoop, the legendary hype man, passed away at age 53 on August 30. His official Instagram account confirmed the news.
Shanda Freeman honored the rap icon with a series of Instagram posts. In one post, she thanked everyone for their love and support for her late ex-husband. She also praised his energy and empathetic nature, highlighting how he always supported everyone he met.
I would like to PERSONALLY THANK each and EVERY PERSON that has shown so much LOVE for Isaac @fatmanscoop and myself. He was an ICON and LEGEND and so many people love him. He was a pure heart and loved reaching back and helping others.
Isaac had THE BEST PARENTS and learned his heart through them. He will FOREVER be MISSED, APPRECIATED and ADORED by so many. He put me in front of the camera and I’ll forever be GRATEFUL and LOVE HIM. Thank you ALL SO MUCH!! Shanda ❤️??,” she continued.

PEOPLE reports that after 13 years together, Fatman Scoop and Shanda Freeman divorced.
Their marriage drew attention from their 2008 MTV series, ‘Man And Wife.’ The interactive series was based on their video podcast, covering topics like safe sex, relationship building and so much more.
Along with her tribute, Shanda Freeman shared a promotional photo from their popular series.
On the photo’s caption Freeman wrote, “We made history. We were the FIRST. I’m heartbroken. I love you. Always ????❤️? Shanda”

On Friday, August 30, Fatman Scoop performed at Town Center Park in Hamden, Connecticut.
During his performance, he seemed to experience a medical emergency and was taken to a local hospital.
On Saturday, August 31, his official Instagram account announced his passing. The post hailed Scoop as the “undisputed voice of the club” and highlighted his remarkable life and the countless lives he touched.
