Lucky Major League Soccer fans now have the chance to own a piece of memorabilia straight from some of the league’s newest, brightest stars.
Throughout the 2024 MLS season, players playing their first game in the league wore a special MLS debut patch on their jerseys, which was then sent to Topps to be inserted into a one-of-one trading cards. Then, in early December, MLS and Fanatics Collectibles announced that the autographed cards had been randomly inserted into 2024 Topps MLS Chrome packs and distributed to hobby shops across the United States.
There are 35 cards available in all, encompassing MLS debuts that took place before April 1, 2024. Each card includes the date of the player’s debut and an image from their first match.
One of the most coveted autographed debut cards has already been found. According to Sports Illustrated, the card featuring the patch worn by former French national team and current Los Angeles Football Club goalkeeper Hugo Lloris was pulled out of a hobby box at E and J Boutique in Brooklyn, New York.
Other high-profile cards still out there include Inter Miami forward Luis Suárez, New York Red Bulls forward Emil Forsberg, Inter Miami midfielder Federico Redondo, Seattle Sounders winger Pedro de la Vega and LA Galaxy midfielder Gabriel Pec.
2024 Topps MLS Chrome hobby boxes retail for $120 each on MLSStore.com. Each box contains 20 packs with four cards each, with two chrome autograph cards in each box. The Topps MLS Chrome base set includes 200 cards featuring current MLS stars, league legends and up-and-coming rookies.
