Should you sell your valuables in Dragon Age The Veilguard?

Email :8

You pick up so many valuables Dragon Age: The Veilguard, they arguably should go by a different name. From chests, from exploring — valuables are absolutely everywhere in The Veilguard.

Ostensibly, valuables are only “valuable” insofar as you can sell them in exchange for gold. But they’re also helpful for boosting your standing with each of the game’s factions.

Our Dragon Age: The Veilguard guide will explain everything you should keep in mind when selling valuables.

Should you sell valuables in Dragon Age: The Veilguard?

In short, yes, you should sell your valuables in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. You’ll get gold for every valuable you sell, and there’s no other use for them. You’re not able to sell equipment or crafting materials, so don’t worry about accidentally selling off something important.

So the question isn’t if you should sell your valuables, but rather who you should sell your valuables to. Selling valuables to a faction’s merchant increases that faction’s overall strength, which is something you’ll need to do to ensure a positive outcome in The Veilguard’s final act. Upgrading a faction’s strength also unlocks new gear for their merchant.

Based on our testing, you’ll get +3 faction strength for every valuable you sell to a particular faction.

If all you care about is gold, sell your valuables to whomever. But if, say, you really want to get the Lords of Fortune merchant to level three so you can unlock an axe upgrade for your companion Taash, make sure to hold onto your valuables until you come across the Lords of Fortune faction merchant.

You can sell valuables at any faction’s merchant. Faction merchants are marked by the armor-looking icon (shown in the screenshot above), and each faction’s merchant is conveniently located near the starting area in each of the following regions:

  • Grey Wardens: In the Hossberg Wetlands
  • Shadow Dragons: In Dock Town
  • Antivan Crows: In Treviso
  • Veil Jumpers: In Arlathan Forest
  • Lords of Fortune: In the Hall of Valor
  • Mourn Watch: In Necropolis Halls

Bear in mind, though, that your choice between helping Minrathous or Treviso impacts which merchants you can sell valuables to.

If you choose to save Minrathous, you’ll no longer have access to the Antivan Crows merchant. Conversely, if you choose to save Treviso, you’ll no longer be have access to the Shadow Dragons merchant. Whichever city you don’t save will lose 250 faction strength.

With that in mind, before you commit to saving either Minrathous or Treviso, you should sell as many valuables as you can to either the Shadow Dragons or Antivan Crows merchant respectively. That way, you can offset the hit you take to your faction strength.
