More Details About The Menendez Brothers’ Case
As The Shade Room previously reported, Erik and Lyle Menendez were sentenced to life in prison without parole in the late 90s after murdering their parents in 1989. During an initial trial, the brothers alleged they had been sexually assaulted by their parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez. However, the trial concluded with a hung jury. Then, a subsequent proceeding reportedly did not include evidence of the alleged sexual assaults and rendered the brothers’ life sentences.
Earlier this month, Gascón announced that his office received new evidence of the sexual assaults. The evidence reportedly was a letter written from Erik to his cousin, seemingly alleging sexual abuse at the hands of his father.
Furthermore, at the time, Kardashian shared a letter via NBC News advocating for the brothers’ prison release.
