Red Dead Redemption is finally coming to PC, as officially confirmed by Rockstar – WGB

Red Dead Redemption and the Undead Nightmare expansion back are finally coming to PC, a full 14 years after the game first launched.

There have been numerous leaks suggesting a port was in the works, leaving fans wondering exactly what was taking so long. But now, Rockstar has announced that the Wild West epic will launch on PC on October 29, 2024.

“For the first time in its storied legacy, John Marston’s beloved journey can be experienced on PC in stunning, new detail, with both Red Dead Redemption and its iconic zombie-horror companion story, Undead Nightmare, arriving to PC on October 29,” Rockstar said, presumably while twirling a revolver.

The port is being handled by Double Eleven, the same group that worked on the slightly disappointing PS4 and Nintendo Switch port from last year. Thankfully, that port was much improved when a 60fps mode was patched in. Overall though, it was a fairly basic re-release of the classic game with a high asking price.

The PC port will presumably be the based on that version of the game, but Double Eleven are going to include PC-specific features, too. 4K resolution, 144hz on compatible hardware, ultrawide and superwide, Nvidia DLSS 3.7, AMD FSR 3.0, DLSS Frame Generation, adjustable draw distances, and more will all be included.

Red Dead Redemption will ride onto PC on Steam, the Epic store and on Rockstars own storefront. No price has been confirmed, but I feel like Rockstar will likely charge the same price as last year’s re-release: £40.
